On the way back to Manila Airport we did a little detour to a beautiful town called Tagaytay. We sat at Josephines overlooking Taal Lake and Taal Volcano, and ate "halo halo" which is a refreshing dessert. Description from menu: "Halo-halo Espesyal - A generous serving of assorted fruit preserves with shaved ice and milk topped with [ube] ice cream and macapuno (young coconut preserve)." The purple "ube" ice cream is made from ube, which is a purple yam or tuber, and it's nice and creamy and not overly sweet. We devoured ube ice cream after several meals in Anilao. I love the stuff!
